Aanii! Welcome — and chi-miigwech for stopping by.

If you’ve explored the rest of Odawa Bound, you probably have a sense of what this space is about: celebrating Anishinaabe culture, sharing stories, making space for community, and building something grounded in love, laughter, and learning.

But I wanted to take a moment here, in this first blog post, to introduce myself — not just as the person behind the scenes, but as a fellow traveler on this path.

My name is Annette, and I come from Sheshegwaning First Nation. Odawa Bound is more than a brand, more than a project — it’s a reflection of my own journey of reconnection, creativity, and responsibility.

Like many of us, I’ve carried questions. About who we are, where we come from, and how we keep our stories alive in the face of everything that’s tried to silence them. Odawa Bound was born out of those questions. It’s a place where I can create, learn, and hopefully offer something back to our communities — whether that’s through a t-shirt that makes you smile, a video that sparks a memory, or a blog post that helps you feel a little less alone.

This isn't about being perfect, or knowing everything. It’s about being real. About showing up — as a learner, a maker, and someone who deeply believes in the strength of our people.

So welcome again. Whether you're here to shop, learn, or just see what’s going on, I’m glad you're here. There’s a lot more to come, and I’m excited to walk this road with you.

In friendship,

Annette Cada
