First Nations people are the original people of this land—before Canada existed, before borders, before roads and cities. We have always been here. We have our own languages, stories, and ways of living.

A long time ago, our leaders made agreements called treaties with the government. These treaties were promises. In return for sharing the land, we were promised things like schools, healthcare, and the right to keep living our way. But many of those promises were broken.

Today, First Nations people are still standing up to say:

"You need to keep your promises."

We are saying: "Listen to us. Respect our rights."

That’s what we mean when we say “Honour First Nation Rights.” It means remembering those agreements and treating First Nations people fairly.

Sometimes we have to protest. Sometimes we go to court. Sometimes we teach others what the treaties really meant. We are still fighting for clean water, safe homes, and schools that respect our culture.

We want to protect our land and water, because it’s our job to take care of the Earth—not just for us, but for everyone.

If you want to help, here are some things you can do:

Learn whose land you live on.

Ask questions and learn about First Nations history.

Speak up when you see unfairness.

Listen to Indigenous people and respect what they say.

At Odawa Bound, we believe in sharing our stories. We believe our kids and grandkids should grow up proud of who they are. We are strong, smart, and full of hope.

We are not going anywhere. This is our land, and these are our rights.

Let’s learn together. Let’s grow together. Let’s make sure the truth is told.

Odawa Bound

Be proud. Be strong. Be heard.
